Auto deletion and Retention Policies went into effect December 13th , 2021

LBCC Classroom Support Retention Policy

On December 13th, 2021, Classroom Support enable auto deletion on the Zoom cloud. Every meeting recorded to the Zoom cloud will be moved to the system trash can after 120 days. All recordings will sit in the trash can for an additional 30 days before being permanently deleted from the system. If you plan on using your recordings longer than this time frame, activate and use Panopto for distribution and long term storage. If you do not have a Panopto account, please create one by using your Single Sign On credentials at https://linnbenton.hosted.panopto.com/

Content on Panopto will be left on the system for an indefinite amount of time or until the video has not been accessed for a continuous span of 36 months at which time it will be deleted from the system.

Zoom user accounts will be managed differently moving forward, all inactive Zoom pro accounts will be downgraded to a basic account after 12 months of inactivity. After a total of 24 months of inactivity, Zoom accounts will then be deleted from the LBCC system. This will be the same policy for all Panopto accounts as well.

On December 13th the following security measures were also enabled on Zoom for all users.

  1. All meetings will be required to be secure with either a passcode or waiting room enabled. All users who first log into their LBCC zoom account before joining a meeting will be able to bypass the waiting room.

  2. With Zoom adding new features and improving security to its platform on a regular basis, we are also going to enable forced client updating if it falls more than 4 updates behind.

We understand some of these policies may be inconvenient but are necessary to make sure the systems continue to be reliable and deliver a more positive experience for our students.
