Dear Woodside Community!
I am so happy to be able to serve as the school counselor for Woodside Elementary and I feel so fortunate to be working with your students. I earned my masters in school counseling from the University of Southern Maine in 2012. I supplement my work with children through my experience as a certified yoga instructor which includes additional training in trauma-informed practices when working with youth. I enjoy traveling, hiking, pickleball, volunterring with Chai, yoga and pilates, biking, and doing anything outdoors!
School counseling services, whether preventative or responsive, are available to all students. My role is to implement programming which teaches knowledge, attitudes, and skills to support the academic, social-emotional, and career development of all students.
You, or anyone working with your student, may refer them to me for support through individual, or group counseling. Your student will see me throughout the building whether in their classrooms, at bus duty, on the playground, and my door is always open for any student wishing to see me in my office. I look forward to getting to know you and your student!

CHAI.pdfChai is a valuable addition to the Woodside community. Chai's is a certified Therapy Dog - which is a dog that is for the benefit of all people. Although she lives with me, she is not for my personal emotional suport, nor does she provide a service to me as a service dog would. She is simply present to make people happy! Chai is certified as a Therapy Dog through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. She is insured and maintains her Therapy Dog status by volunteering at least 1x/3 months.
She regularly captures the hearts of children and adults alike.
At school students are taught the ABC's of Therapy Dogs:
A - ask to pet
B- pet her back and on the back of the head
C - clean hands before and after if needed
Students may not pick her up and should keep their hands and face away from hers.
Chai may visit classrooms, or students may earn paw tickets and cash them in for special time with Chai in a smaller setting. Chai is generally available for emotional support on the days she is at school. Chai has special permission to be at Woodside; dogs without special permission are not allowed on school grounds during the school day. Chai has learned many tricks that she loves to show off and one of her most unique talents is that she barks when she hears students running down the hall ;)
