Anne Alexander, sculptor, shares her expertise in a 4-day sculpture workshop for Visual Art students at the middle school. Each student chooses a piece of alabaster and learns to look at the shape of their stones and sketch organic designs on paper. Next, Anne teaches them how to use translate their designs into beautiful sculptures polishing them to a smooth sheen.
MAMS 6th 7th &/or 8th grade advanced writers attend this wonderful writing workshop by The Telling Room! https://www.tellingroom.org/. Students work on fiction pieces that are professionally published in a book that is released after printing. Each workshop block includes great teaching, interspersed with fun activities such as “Peas and Carrots,” “Michelangelo,” and “Who Am I?” to get the creative juices flowing.
