Meet the Teacher
Mrs. Shannon Hines
Thank you all who have come to visit the Health and Physical Education page for Lindenwold School 5. The 2017-18 school year was my 1st year at Lindenwold School 5, but I was no stranger to the Lindenwold Community. Prior to teaching at school 5, I was the Athletic Trainer at Lindenwold High School from 2005 until September 11, 2017. You may have seen me on the side lines of the athletic events helping the injured athletes. Before I joined the Lindenwold School Community, I was an Athletic Trainer at Drexel University for 5 years.
I completed my degree in Exercise and Sport Science at Ursinus College in Pennsylvania and later attained my teaching certification in Physical Education and Health.
I have been married since 2008, and my husband and I have 2 daughters. In January 2020, my family gained a new member! We added Dawkins Hines, the cutest puppy ever! Our other dog Duncan unfortunately passed away June 25, 2019. I enjoy playing sports such as softball, golf, snow skiing, field hockey and horseback riding. I also enjoy coaching my daughters sports teams. I'm originally from Philadelphia and root for all of the Philly sports teams!

My goal as your Health and Physical Education teacher is to teach you skills to become a physically literate person. "Physical literacy is the ability to move with the competency and confidence in a wide variety of physical activities in multiple environments that benefit the healthy development of the whole person'" (SHAPE AMERICA)
I look forward to teaching you this year. Parents, please contact me with any questions. My email is shines@lindenwold.k12.nj.us.
