Mr Flick's
Video Production Academy Program

Meet Mr Flick

I'm an experienced Videographer, Photographer, Video Editor, Audio Engineer and Teacher with over 25 years of on-the-job experience.

I hold a BA of Communications in the field of radio, TV, and film.

My passion for video and photography started with helping my Father with his TV show.  I've worked in TV and Radio advertising for eight years, owned a recording studio, done live sound for bands, worked for Apple, NFL Films and I have been teaching Video Production for the last 19 years. I trained and consulted for employees of NBC, CBS, Comcast, NFL Films and other broadcast/production facilities.

I love teaching and I thank my mom for inspiring me to become the educator I am today.  I promise to love all my students, treat them equitably and with respect.

 Classes and Club Descriptions

Intro to Video & Video Production 2

Intro to Video Production and Video production 2 are both serious courses that teach student's how to make broadcast quality newscasts, PSA's, commercials, and music videos. Student's are taught the correct way of handling production equipment, as well as how to act professionally on a shoot. Furthermore, they learn the basic techniques on how to frame shots using the basic shots of the video repertoire

Students will also learn key time management skills. With strict deadlines and only forty minutes a day to do their work, students are forced to work under pressure, work together as a team, and manage time to successfully complete their work. This is a fast paced, challenging, and exciting course that will prepare students for higher education as well as the work place.

Video Production 3

Video Production 3 is a serious course that teaches students how to make broadcast quality productions and reinforces what they learned in Video Production 2. This year the students will produce Documentaries and Silent Films. Students are reinforced on the correct way of handling production equipment as well as how to act professionally on a shoot. It is very important for them to learn how to act professional because some of our projects will be shot on location in local businesses. Furthermore, they learn the more advance editing techniques on how to frame shots.
