By definition Geometry is "the branch of mathematics concerned with the properties and relations of points, lines, planes, surfaces, and solids". In other words, Geometry is the study of shapes and the relationships between them. This year we will study the following topics in Geometry:
Foundations of Geometry
Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
Transformations
Triangle Congruence
Relationships in Triangles
Quadrilaterals & Other Polygons
Similarity
Right Triangles & Trigonometry
Coordinate Geometry
Circles
Surface Area and Volume
Throughout these sections we will continually ask ourselves, "Where do we see these topics happening in real life and how can we use this information in the future?". Click on the Google Slides below to see some of the real life examples provided by our students the first week of this year.
