Our robot this year performed much better than last year. One huge improvement over last year was our use of a swerve drive chassis. This chassis allowed for omni-directional movement, which improved our ability to score quickly within a match. Notes were collected with the intake mechanism. A middle roller guided the notes into our shooter flywheels, which spun at high speed to launch the notes into the high goal. Our shoulder enabled the robot to put the intake notes from the ground, aim it at a high goal, and raise to vertical to score in a low goal. At the beginning of the match, our arm was supported by our grand plank. Cooperation is a key component in competitions, and our climbers enabled us to join our team for a united ascension effort at the conclusion of the match. A simple winch mechanism, the climbers wind up to reach over a chain then wind down again to lift the robot off of the ground. Our design this year was inspired by robots built by Robot in Three Days teams, especially the Unqualified Quokkas. This allowed us to shorten the design phase and leave more time for troubleshooting and driving practice.

"This team set out to up their game this year. They optimized their design and build process for creating this year's bot. They also developed a system to track and improve their robot based on match performance. From a bear crawl to a run, this team is taking off.
Congratulations, Team 9153!"
