I was born and raised in Central Point, Oregon. I grew up with parents and grandparents working as civil servants in their communities. They showed me what it means to give back to others. Growing up with such outstanding role models, I knew I wanted to pursue a path of helping others as well. This lead me down the path of education.
Knowing early on I wanted to become a teacher, it offered me time to find the right school. That school was Western Oregon University. I graduated there with my Bachelor's in Early Childhood/Elementary Degree with an endorsement in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). By 2016, I received my Master's in Curriculum Instruction: Teacher Leadership through Concordia University's online program.
After graduating, I received a 5th grade teaching position at Taft Elementary in 2014. I have been the 5th grade teacher since then. Over the years, I have become the 5th Grade Team leader and also the Talented and Gifted Program Coordinator for Taft. In the recent years, I have become the head coordinator for Oregon Battle of the Books at our school and one of the leaders for AVID at our building.
