Social class is offered to 2nd and 3rd grade students as an additional special. Some students may say they have "Social Studies with Mrs. Thomas" however, we're not learning about history in my class. Instead, we're learning social skills and building our growth mindset, developing self regulation strategies and other 21st century skills.  In other words, we're learning about all of the important things that will set up our Union Owls for successful interpersonal relationships now and in the future. 

It is such a joy to be able to spend this additional time with these students during these crucial developmental years. This is the best time to be talking about friendship, other people's feelings and for students to learn about their own feelings and how to manage them!
