National History Day Competition with Ms. Crehan and Mr. Peledge (Grades 6-8)
National History Day is a 50-year old competition that challenges students from across the U.S. and beyond. Students, either on their own or in small groups, explore a topic of their own interest relating to the annual theme; this year's theme is Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History. Through research and analysis, students generate their own perspective on how historical figures, moments, or a movement connects to the theme. They can write a paper or create an exhibit, documentary, website, or performance. Students can enter a regional, then state, and ultimately a "national" competition for top finishers. Last year Lincoln students did extremely well at the regionals and one nearly qualified for nationals with a couple of prizes earned at states. Come check it out and see what you think. We will meet on Thursday afternoons.
Massachusetts History Day Young Historians with Ms. Crehan and Mr. Peledge (Grade 5 Only)
Like National History Day for students in grades 6-12, Grade 5 "Young Historians" will explore primary sources tied to the National History Day 2025–26 theme: Revolution, Reaction, and Reform in History . Students may create a Poster, Podcast, or Documentary film. Culminating projects will be presented at a regional contest and at our school showcase in March. This group will meet on Thursdays afternoons.
Writing Explorers: The Stories Inside You with Mrs. Brown
Get ready for an exciting writing adventure just for kids in grades 5–8! In this fun and creative class, you get to choose what kinds of stories you want to explore—from true stories to poems, plays, and even fun letters and lists. Each week, you’ll use cool prompts (like pictures!) to help spark ideas, then plan, write, and make your stories even better. You'll collect all your writing and art in your very own creative art journal. Plus, you’ll get to try awesome projects like group stories, story dioramas, accordion books, and colorful origami envelopes for your poems. Whether you're dreaming up a wild adventure or sharing something real from your life, your story matters—and this is your place to share it! This offering will meet on Thursday afternoons.
Makerspace Club with Mrs. Daniels
Unleash your creativity in our Makerspace Club! With plenty of materials to explore—arts and crafts supplies, cardboard, Legos, magnetic poetry, coloring materials, and more—the possibilities are endless. Each session gives students the chance to dream, design, and build their own unique projects, or try out guided prompts and fun challenges for inspiration. Whether you love tinkering, inventing, building, or creating art, the Makerspace Club is a place to explore new ideas, work with your hands, and bring your imagination to life. This offering will meet on Tuesday afternoons.
Trading Card Game Club with Mrs. Blumberg
Love Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, or another trading card game? This club is all about kids teaching kids—whether you're a beginner or a card game pro, everyone has something to share! In this club, you can: learn how to play from other students; teach your own tips, tricks, and strategies; build decks, trade cards, battle in fun, casual games; and talk about your favorite cards. Bring your own cards to trade, battle, or share. Don’t have cards? Come anyway—someone can teach you how it all works and there will be cards to share. Cards should be dropped off with Mrs. B in the library at the beginning of club days for safe keeping. This offering will meet on Tuesday afternoons.
