At Blenheim, we believe that reading is a gateway to knowledge, empathy, and limitless possibilities. Our reading vision is to create a diverse and inclusive reading culture where every child experiences the joy and power of reading. We strive to cultivate a love for books by embracing diversity in literature, encouraging active engagement, and fostering a supportive community of readers. Through our reading program, we aim to empower students to become confident, critical thinkers, compassionate global citizens, and lifelong learners.
We believe that all of our pupils, regardless of their individual need or starting point, deserve to be equipped with the tools and skills necessary to: express themselves; collaborate effectively; enhance society; and further their understanding of their global responsibilities. A commitment to high-quality education in English teaches all pupils in all key stages to speak and write fluently so that they can communicate their ideas and emotions to others and, through their reading and listening, others too can communicate with them.
