In May, we did a strange thing. We hosted a team of international experts to come and check out our school – not just a beauty pageant, but we actually allowed them to ask hard questions, look into all of our lesson plans, desk drawers and clogged drains, and even gave them un-monitored access to honest students and parents. Why would Lighthouse lay itself open to criticism and potentially negative feedback?

We believe it makes us better! What an opportunity to grow.

The apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 9:7-8:

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”

The steady growth of the Lighthouse community is evidence of God’s abundant blessing as we cheerfully share our gifts and steward resources to glorify His Name through learning and opportunity.

Paul’s words also reflect our dual role as givers and receivers, and echo our core value of CITIZENSHIP: “thinking in the interests of the community and adapting to the culture.”

As you read about new opportunities in activities, academics, technology support, and scholarships, we invite you to take part in all that Lighthouse offers. We also highlight examples of generosity, such as The Good Shop’s scholarship contributions and alumni who are “paying it forward” beyond their Lighthouse years. May these stories inspire you to take the opportunity to both give and receive as an integral part of the Lighthouse community.

2025 Sporting Achievements
Since its launch in July 2024, the Secondary After-School Sports Programme has gone from strength to strength. Now offering three sports, including football, volleyball, and netball, the programme engages 75 students. Opportunities to support our vision
As a non-profit organisation, part of our mission is to keep school fees as low as possible. To help bridge the gap and supplement our fee income, we rely on the generous support of both our local and international community. Donations may take the form of one-off, project-specific gifts or regular monthly commitments.

Thank you to the many supporters who have sustained and strengthened our growth over the past 15 years. Our school and the impact it has is the result of your investment.

We don’t only need financial support, we also welcome volunteering - whether it is short, long or medium term. We have various volunteer opportunities.

How can you give with your time?

- Volunteer to be a scribe for students with learning disabilities during tests and exams

- Volunteer your time to support the running of the Library

- Assist at the FarmLab, planting, pruning and feeding the various fruits and vegetables

- Coach a primary or secondary sport

- Support special projects, lead by primary teachers

- Organise a parent social gathering

- Speak with secondary students about your work and/or be available for mock interviews as par

How can you give financially?

- Financial donations: individuals, companies and organisations may consider giving on a one-off or ongoing basis.

- In-kind giving: at any given time, in-kind gifts help us keep our procurement costs low in areas as diverse as construction materials, furniture and fittings and other materials; educational services also provide discounts to strengthen our curriculum
