Grade 3 started with a sense of excitement. Our classrooms are buzzing with energy as students reconnected with old friends, made new ones, and settled back into the routines of school life well.
This term, we worked on building a strong sense of community as an essential part of our classroom culture. We incorporated team activities, collaborative learning, and opportunities for peer support throughout the term to foster positive relationships and a sense of belonging among our students. Our students are reminded that though we are many, we are one body in Christ working on a common goal.
In Maths, we have explored place value concepts and fractions using hands-on and concrete learning. From clay molding to paper folding, our Grade 3 learners had fun learning about different aspects of fractions.
In Literacy, we focused on parts of speech to build solid foundation to sentence writing. Our young learners enjoyed using the dictionary to check spellings and meanings of words. This new skill has instilled a sense of confidence and independence in our Grade 3 learners.
Easter Week
We had a blessed week reflecting on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour. The Child Evangelism Fellowship: C.E.F came, taught us songs, (see links attached), did object lessons and with passion delivered the gospel: the Good News.
"Whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:15
We concluded the Holy Week, this Thursday by writing a love letter to God to thank him for his divine love and sacrifice for us. Our children opened their hearts and wrote to Jesus. We, then prayed and uplifted our letter to Him.
Reminders
Please encourage your child to pack their pencil case with all the necessary supplies, including pencils, erasers, sharpeners, rulers and any other items they may need for their lessons. Having their pencil case on hand ensures that they are ready to engage in learning activities without any interruptions.
Responsibility Matters: Emphasise the value of responsibility and accountability in their daily routines. Remind them that being responsible means taking ownership of their actions and belongings, including keeping track of their school supplies and taking care of them properly.
By instilling these important values, we are helping to empower our learners to become independent and self-reliant learners both inside and outside the classroom.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in your child's education.
Warm regards,
Ms Celine, Ms Jackie and Ms Tershiah
