Grade 2 student competes in Labourdonnais Sports Club Gala
The Labourdonnais Sports Club held its annual Swimming Gala on Saturday 8th June 2024. Noemie Huang Wan-Chang in Grade 2 Yellow participated in the U/7 category in the 25m breaststroke and 25m freestyle races.
Noemie came in 3rd place. Well done - we are proud of you!
La Bayadère by Le Studio Dance School
Last weekend, four students and Miss Flo participated in a readapted ballet show, "La Bayadère," at Le Caudan Arts Centre. It was a wonderful spectacle, full of colors and captivating choreography from a mix of different dance styles including ballet, modern, jazz, and breakdance, choreographed by the Studio Dance School in Beau Plan.
It was a readaptation of the famous ballet La Bayadère by Marius Petipa, which tells the story of the noble warrior Solor and the temple dancer Nikiya, set in the exotic setting of 19th-century India, with music by Ludwig Minkus.
The girls have been working since the beginning of the year to prepare for this show. Although it was tiring towards the end, with rehearsals ending at 10 p.m. on school days, it was a wonderful experience to perform on stage with 70 other dancers.
