December 6th, 2020:

From the Bible:

Luke 1:26-38 NIRV-
Read Luke 1:26-38 together as a family.

Family Discussion Questions:

  1. How did Mary feel after learning what the great plan would be?

  2. How did Mary respond?

  3. What did the angel say to Joseph?

  4. Colossians 1:17 says, "Before anything was created, he (Jesus) was already there. He holds everything together." How does this verse show that Jesus was God's great plan?

  5. Is it sometimes difficult to do what God asks?

  6. How can we be more like Mary and Joseph and follow God?

  7. What do you think are God's plans for you? It's okay if you don't know. What can we do to find out what God's plans for us are?

(Parents, don’t feel like you have to have all the answers to your kid’s questions! No one has ALL the answers. The important thing is that you validate the importance of asking questions and engage your kid in a conversation about faith.)

Family Prayer:

"God, thank You for asking us to be a part of Your story like Mary and Joseph. Please help us to be ready when you show us what our next steps with You are. We want to celebrate Your plan and be a part of Your story. Thank You for letting us join You every time You guide us and speak to us. In Jesus' name, amen!"

Big Idea:

We can celebrate God's plan!

Memory Verse:

Here is our Memory Verse for this week:

John 3:16

God
(point up)

so loved the world
(hug yourself)

that he gave
(hold hands out)

his one and only Son.
(pretend to hold a baby)

Anyone who believes in him
(point to your brain)

will not die
(shake head 'no')

but will have eternal life.
(fan arms up and out)

John 3:16
(hold hands, like holding a bible)
