Put in new batteries every June.

It is better to water earlier in the day than in the later afternoon.

The water timer has the following "zones" or "stations". Each station can be set for different frequencies - "How Often" (days between watering) , duration - "How Long" (the length in minutes the zone will be turned on for), "Start Times" (when the zone will go on, it is best not to have zones run as the same time as that may reduce pressure in each zone)

Station one - Borders and Fruit Trees - This zone should be watered less frequently and for longer durations. For example every 5-7 days for 40 minutes. In the winter this could be turned off when there is rain.

Station two - Garden Beds - This zone should be watered more frequently and for shorter durations. For example every other day for 20 minutes. In the winter this could reduced when there is rain, but should still be on if growing veggies.

Station three - Greenhouse - This zone should go one everyday for 3-5 minutes if starting or caring for plant starts. In the winter or when watering perennial container plants the frequency of this zone could be reduced to every 3 - 5 days with duration increased to 5-10 minutes. To avoid disease or mold water in the morning hours.

If you notice rotted seeds/seedlings or mold/moss growing reduce the frequency to every 2 or 3 days.
