First day of work - November 30
The first day of ALL began with group division. After that, we connected via Meet with Level up, the client. During this call, we have been able to understand who Level up was, what they do, and what our goal for this ALL was. After finishing the interview we divided into groups and did everything possible to find an idea related to the mission previously given. The main ideas that emerged from the groups were: an experiment on osmosis, one based on magnets and iron, and finally another one based on scientific circuits. After discussing with the professor we chose the idea that included magnets.
At the end of the day, we came up with a viable idea, which is a labyrinth with iron powder that can be completed with the use of magnets. On this first day, we had a lot of problems. First of all, we were pretty insecure about the idea and it took us a long time to figure out whether the idea was feasible to do. The second problem was that everyone in our group had to catch up on some tests and, as a result, it was just Richard and I working on the ALL.
Second day of work - December 1
The second day of work started with a recap of all the things we had done the previous day. In the beginning, we set the goals we were supposed to achieve throughout the ALL. We then split up: Richard took care of the research, Enrico took care of the creation of the 3D model and of the documentation, Alessia designed the site, Lucia tried her best at making the presentation and Emil helped us all doing anything needed. In the morning we defined the final idea and decided which materials we needed to assemble it. During the afternoon we had the opportunity to meet with an older student who advised us to use another program. Unfortunately, after various reflections we have modified the product that we bring to the presentation because the production times of the previous one were excessive. Also on the same day we created the flyer and continued working on the 3D model.
During the week end- December 3/4
During the weekend we met online in order to work. Lucia was able to complete the poster and create a copy both in Italian and English. Richard, after finishing the 3D modeling, sent our project to Made++ to get it printed. Enrico helped Richard in order to finish the modeling and completed the website by adding the documentation of the previous days. He also improved the graphic aspect of the site. Alessia and Emil helped the group.
Forth day of work - December 5
This day was disastrous for our group as we had many problems with organization and collaboration. During the morning we had to change our 3D model again because it was partially inaccurate. Enrico kept on documenting and Lucia worked on the presentation. At the end of the morning, we tried our experiment in the laboratory with positive feedback. In the afternoon we focused on the graphic part, in fact, we made many videos/photos of our work both in the laboratory and in the classroom. Our site changed radically: we added the moodboard, some photos, and we changed the order of the documentation. Also on this day, we had the poster corrected. At the end of the day, we were satisfied with the result we achieved.
Fifth day of work - December 6
On the fifth day of ALL, we had a huge problem: we weren't sure if the printed maze would have been ready for our celebration so we had to find a backup plan. Some of us created a new project with ice cream sticks and other things we could find at the school. We made a hot glue model that was a non-scale copy of our maze. This was meant to be shown on presentation day, to explain how our experiment should have worked. On this day Lucia continued with the presentation and I completed the final details of the documentation. Also on this day we managed to print the two posters and continued to work on the site. At the end of the day, we decided who would have said what the day after the presentation.
Sixth day of Work - December 7th
This was the day of celebration. On this day we finished all the unfinished projects. In the afternoon we studied what to say at the presentation and then we presented our work.
