As a lifelong learner, I want to learn as much as possible to share with students, young and old. Learn about how to help me achieve this: HERE
I am an avid traveler, language-learner, tea-drinker, and yoga practitioner. I bring a diverse range of experiences to the classroom, from being a student in Germany growing up; speaking seven languages, more or less; teaching English in China, and traveling throughout the world. Being a culturally literate global citizen is a significantly important part of life in this day and age, and helps to successfully navigate through issues, problems, quandaries, and other vexations by providing solutions and information for the autonomy and independence of the individual. I hope to help students realize this, in the array of forms it may exist, and simply improve their existent understanding of the world and perceptions of the global processes, regardless of current level or views on the subject. I encourage parents to reach out to me with any questions, comments, or concerns about their children, whether pertaining specifically to the course or more generally about the student.
I believe all students have the potential to succeed, and I look forward to facilitating this in conjunction with parental assistance as a partner in the process and individual student participation and effort.
As part of the travel experience, one the greatest things I look forward to is the variety of gastronomic experiences one may encounter. For example, the following photo is coming across pan-fried grasshoppers in a small village in Yunnan province, China. Overall, these were a rather yummy treat that were crunchy, salty, and oily, which was invigorating after a long day of hiking around the surrounding mountains of the village.
Crowd-funding has become commonplace in the 21st century for exploring alternative opportunities for acquiring classroom resources. Feel free to check out what projects our classroom needs your support for!
