FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We are still working with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and other authorities to determine how these school closures and suspension of normal operations will impact the rest of the school year, so we thank you in advance for your patience as we work through this process together. Frequently asked questions (FAQs) are being developed right now for students, families and staff, to be posted on our website by early next week.

LHISD has established an email address specifically for inquiries about the impact of the extended closure.

Please send your questions and comments to us by clicking on this link at LHISD.

A staff member will respond to you as quickly as possible. We may not have the answer to all of your questions at this time, but will work diligently to have them answered as soon as possible.

Your care, concern and support are appreciated. Thank you for choosing LHISD

STUDENT NUTRITION

We will offer meal pick up Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (two days of meals provided on Tuesday and Thursday).

The distribution times will remain from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Bill Burdan Elementary.

To continue to keep both you and our Panther Staff safe and healthy, please read the following procedural changes. When pulling up to pick up food, please pop your trunk or hatch in your vehicle. Staff members will place the food in the vehicle. Please limit your vehicle window to a small opening to limit exposure. We want to keep you safe and our staff safe.

Please check our Learning from Home page for resources to support distance learning.

We recommend students work online in math for 30 minutes daily and in reading for 30 minutes daily. This will allow your student to practice their math and reading skills. While this is recommended, it is not required for students to participate and students will not receive a grade.

DISTRICT EVENTS

All district events are canceled. As we learn more in the coming days, rescheduled events will be posted on our district website at https://www.libertyhill.txed.net/

ACC Dual Credit

All ACC Dual Credit Courses being taught on high school campuses will resume on March 30 in an online format. Students should continue to check their ACC email for more information and for communication from their professors. Mrs. Twine will continue to communicate through Google Classroom with any information she receives.

AP College Board

Students will continue to receive AP instruction and will still be eligible to take the AP exam containing content & skills most teachers have already covered in class by early March. For this year only, AP exams can be taken at home. Each test should take approximately 45 minutes and will be administered online.

Beginning March 25th, students and schools will have access to free, live AP review lessons, delivered by AP teachers from across the country by going here: https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/coronavirus-updates#free-ap-classes. These are in addition to reviews and assignments teachers may still assign to assure all content has been covered prior to testing. We strongly encourage all students to stay connected to their Google Classroom and school email to ensure they are receiving the information they need.

SAT and SAT School Day

The March 25 SAT School Day administration is postponed. College Board will soon share further information about weekday school-based SAT scheduled for this spring.

College Board has canceled the May 2, 2020 SAT administration. Makeup exams for the March 14 administration (scheduled for March 28) are also canceled. College Board has not yet canceled the June 6, 2020 SAT administration and will continue to assess its status, with the health and safety of students and educators as our top priority.

College Board will provide future additional SAT testing opportunities for students as soon as possible in place of canceled administrations. They have promised to be as flexible as possible to give students the best chance to show their skills and stay on the path to college.

In the meantime, use this time to study for the SAT using Khan Academy (https://www.khanacademy.org/sat). It's a great program and free!
