SS Weekly Activities

We enjoy using our materials from Studies Weekly. Every five days or so, we receive a new newspaper full of interesting articles. We read them, do activities related to them, and take a test on them every week. Log in to your PantherNet account and click the red "Studies Weekly" box to access these resources.

Local Historical Museums

If you find yourself in Fredericksburg, plan to spend some time in the National Museum of the Pacific War. You can check out their website here: Museum of the Pacific War .


In Austin, you could visit the Texas Armed Forces Military Museum at Camp Mabry. We will see just a portion of all of the exhibits during our field trip in the spring, so please feel free to have your parents take you anytime for a more complete visit! Camp Mabry Museum


The Bullock Museum also has interesting exhibits...especially the ship they are restoring that was part of Robert La Salle's fleet! Bob Bullock Museum


In Georgetown you'll find a museum devoted to Williamson County: Williamson Museum


Local Libraries

Some favorite authors of historical fiction include Avi, Richard Peck, Gary Paulsen, and Laurie Halse Anderson. We encourage you to check them out for yourself. Liberty Hill Intermediate Library and Liberty Hill Library are great venues to visit and check out these authors´ as well as other great authors´ works.
