During the past months students and faculty have had the opportunity to “Ask Jenna” for advice and tell me ways they feel the newspaper staff could brighten up their day.
58.8% of the participants stated that they were stressed, while 41.2% of people said they were stressed but not for any particular reason just that school stresses them out.
When asked how the newspaper could brighten up their day a new response I got was putting in a silly quote. You got it!
One question I received said, “Jenna, what advice do you have for someone stressing about their future and college plans?” Personally, I have been really struggling lately with getting stressed out over college and how it will all go. The way I have been dealing with it is just filling out all the scholarships I can, making sure I have applied to all of my choices and making a pros and cons list. This has helped me to just calm down and focus on making the best out of the situation. At the end of the day, doors will open if you are supposed to be and they will close if it is not supposed to happen.
Another question that I got was, “what should I do if I found something out I shouldn't know about?” I feel like there are lots of different options if this is your scenario. I feel like the first thing I would do is decide whether this would put you or someone you know in danger. And then think about the reason you did not know or were not told. If someone wants you to know something they will let you know. Then talk to a trusted adult about the situation if you feel like someone is in danger. If you do not think this is a situation that someone can get hurt I would stay out of it and wait until they come to you.
I have loved answering your questions and giving you my advice this year:))
