The Langston Hughes Middle School PTA Board is composed of individuals who work together to carry out the mission of the PTA. The President, Treasurer, and Secretary positions must be filled each year in order for our PTA to be in compliance with the National PTA. Each Board Member must be an active participant by: 

• Maintaining regular communication with the PTA President and the rest of the Board, including monitoring PTA email account regularly

• Attending Board meetings; there are generally five (5) meetings in total held throughout the year, including one in the summer before school starts.  

• Attending monthly PTA General Membership meetings

• Supporting other PTA events and initiatives (e.g., recruit new PTA members, help with planning, volunteering, etc.)

• Serving as a voting member of the PTA (must be a paid member)

• Helping identify a successor at the end of one’s term
