Mapmaker Pilot and the impact of the platform across the curriculum
MapMaker Pilot Project Celebration Event
In July 2025, four primary schools from the EdTech Hubs Programme gathered at the iconic Royal Geographical Society to celebrate their achievements using the Mapmaker platform.
Teachers and pupils shared how they successfully integrated Mapmaker to enhance the study of place across their own curriculum. Ranging from Supporting fieldwork, local studies to literacy topics and even how light pollution varies across the UK.
Pupils had an opportunity to look through the historic archive of Maps at the RGS and study 3D models that were used to plan the iconic Everest expeditions of the early 20th century,
Pupils also had a chance to meet real-life explorer Paul Rose, who offered inspirational advice on how to follow your dreams and aim to achieve whatever you chose in life
