Learning Forward Ontario Mission & Vision

Learning Forward Ontario (LFO) is an incorporated, non-profit professional educational organization established in 1991. Members include consultants, co-ordinators, principals, vice-principals, teachers, superintendents, directors of education, business and support workers, and faculty of education personnel. LFO is an affiliate of Learning Forward -The Professional Learning Organization whose vision, mission and beliefs follow below:

Mission

Learning Forward Ontario provides professional learning experiences rooted in current research, equity, and educator well-being that develop the capacity of all school and system leaders to create the conditions where every student can succeed.

Beliefs 

The intentions and activities of Learning Forward Ontario are based on the belief that:

• Equity, inclusion, and social justice must be at the heart of professional learning. 

• Professional learning is the foundation of school and system improvement and the collective responsibility of all educators and leaders.

• Effective professional learning builds the capacity and efficacy of all staff who influence student learning and supports success for every learner.

• Professional learning is most powerful when it is grounded in research, informed by practice, and responsive to the diverse needs of educators and communities. 

• Collaboration, professional networks, and mentorship opportunities deepen learning through shared ownership and mutual support.

• Professional learning is most impactful when it is built on trust and the conditions that support both students and educators.
