Hello! My name is Kendra Arevalo, and I am the School Counselor for Dora Romero Elementary. I graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and continued my education at Lamar University where I obtained a Master’s degree in School Counseling . I have 14 years of experience in education, ranging from a 4th grade elementary teacher, middle school writing teacher, elementary coding lab teacher and a School Counselor. I look forward to working with all students, staff and family members this school year!

Hi! My name is Eric Sanchez, and I am excited to be your new co-counselor at Dora Romero Elementary School. I bring 14 years of experience in education to this role, and I am passionate about supporting our students and staff.  My career in education began at HCISD as an elementary music teacher, where I had the privilege of teaching music to all grade levels. Over the years, I expanded my role, teaching music across multiple programs, being a coordinator at the Beyond the Bell summer program, and serving as a Chess Sponsor and coach.  I hold a degree in Music from the University of Texas at Brownsville and a Master's Degree in School Counseling from Lamar University.  It is an honor to join the dedicated team at Dora Romero Elementary School. I am committed to creating a positive and supportive environment where every student can thrive. I look forward to working with you and contributing to the success and well-being of our school community.
