When do I need to apply for university
Applications for Medicine, Veterinary and Dentistry as well for all courses at Oxford and Chemistry must be submitted by October.
All other applications must be submitted by January.
It is important that you start working on your personal statement no later than June.

What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid. You're an employee with a contract of employment and holiday leave.
By the end of an apprenticeship, you'll have the right skills and knowledge needed for your chosen career. To become an apprentice, you must: be 16 or over.

Can I go to university and do an apprenticeship?
No, an employer would be sponsored to run an apprenticeship on a full time basis.
Once you finish your apprenticeship, you can then go to university. Even if you start work after your apprenticeship and later on decide to go to university, that is still an option for you.
Is there a limit to how many apprenticeships I can apply for?
There is no limit to the amount of apprenticeships you can apply for.
What is the national minimum wage?
For those aged between 16-17 - £4.81 an hour
For those aged between 18-20 - £6.83 an hour
For apprentices under 19 - £4.81 an hour

What is the difference between Work experience and Industry Placements?
Work experience is carried out for a short period of time (1-2 weeks).
Industry placements have a minimum of 45 days (315 hours) and must be meaningful to you, developing your employability skills in an area of your interest.
Industry placements are available for vocational students, and it enables you to complete your course with the skills, knowledge and expertise that employers want, by creating opportunities to develop a broad range of employability and industry relevant skills linked to your qualification and chosen career path.
