Current Unit: We will start off the year by going over adding and subtracting decimals and multi-digit multiplication.
Please know that our math is a progression and will build on itself throughout the year. Students will need a solid foundation in their math facts and basic computation skills. We will be applying our learning to real-world experiences and students will be moving from basic numerical equations to more word problems.
Students will have a consumable textbook within the classroom and will have access to their book digitally. Students can log into their online textbook through ClassLink.
In addition to our textbook, students will have a math resource notebook. The notebooks will contain notes from what we are doing in class, and students should utilize them as a resource. Students can take their math notebooks home to help students and parents.
Make sure students are practicing the math facts needed, especially those 6,7,8,9 times tables. Click on the X above to go to timestables.com . Basic multiplication fluency is essential.
Students should complete at least 5 topics a week. Sometimes I will assign topics that are focused on skills we are learning in class. Students log in through Classlink.
