About Me
About Me
Welcome to my class!
This is my ninth year at DFMS and I love this school and the district. I teach Fundamentals of Computing and PLTW Medical Detectives. My desire is for your child to believe that he/she is able to achieve beyond what is ordinary. Whether your child desires to become a graphic artist, computer programmer, or nuclear surgeon, we hold the keys to unlocking the possibilities in their lives. It CAN happen! I have a personal commitment to seeing each child excel in his/her gifts and abilities and I am hoping your child will embrace this time of scholarship and community with me.
I grew up in the upstate of South Carolina and came to Columbia for my undergraduate college education. Shortly afterwards, I married my incredible husband, Lee. We have two beautiful adult children who both graduated from Dutch Fork High School. I am a graduate of the University of South Carolina - Darla Moore School of Business, earning a double major in Marketing and Insurance & Economic Security. Later, I earned a Masters of Divinity in Educational Ministries from Columbia International University and a Doctorate in Ministry (Organizational Leadership), from Erskine. The larger part of my professional career was spent in the insurance industry in sales, claims administration and management. I enjoy spending time with my family, baking, traveling, volunteering in the local prisons, public speaking, serving on the global mission field, and pastoring. My passion for people has given me the opportunity to teach in various places, including S. Sudan and Uganda, Africa and Lucknow, India.
Students are always welcome to speak with me about their concerns in person or through Google Classroom. Parents are encouraged to contact me by email, or calling my classroom. I try to return calls within 24 hours.
