My children: Stephanie, Matthew, and Tamara
My name is Maria Grose and this year is my 18th year of teaching. I am looking forward to a great and productive year of learning!
I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education from Asbury College, KY. I also have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and teaching English as a Second Language from the University of West Florida. I am certified to teach Early Elementary, Elementary levels, and ESOL in SC. In addition, I hold AGP endorsement in SC.
I met my husband in college and we have been married for 26 years. We have three wonderful children: two daughters and a son. In my free time I coach skating classes at the Flight Adventure Park.
Fun fact about me: I am bilingual, I speak Russian fluently.
My Hopes and Dreams
My hopes and dreams are to inspire my students to think deeply about their experiences. My goal is to nurture their enthusiasm for learning and a sense of wonder. My hopes are to set the stage for a guided discovery where students can explore, investigate, and construct meaning for themselves. My dream is for my students to set their own goals, work hard, and if at first they don't succeed, try and try again.
My goal as a teacher is to get to know each student, their unique abilities, their strengths and weaknesses, meet them where they are and to help them make as much progress as possible this year. My dream is to build a community of learners. I would like to see my class working as a team, helping each other and supporting each other.
