Hello! My name is Joshua Scott, and I am excited to be part of the learning journey at Chapin Middle School. I teach Project Lead The Way (PLTW), where students explore engineering, design, robotics, problem-solving, and technology through hands-on learning experiences.
Before becoming an educator, I worked in the information technology and cybersecurity field for 20 years earning a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Security. I am an Army Veteran as well. My passion for helping others learn and grow led me to pursue a career in education, where I can combine technology, creativity, and real-world problem-solving in the classroom.
I believe students learn best when they are actively engaged, challenged to think critically, and encouraged to be creative. In my classroom, students collaborate, design, build, test ideas, and learn from both successes and mistakes. My goal is to help every student develop confidence, curiosity, and skills that will benefit them far beyond middle school.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, creating educational content, writing books, exploring technology, and working on hands-on projects. I also enjoy sharing learning experiences and creative projects through my YouTube channel, Live4Teach.
I look forward to partnering with students and families to make this a successful and exciting school year!

A Note for Families: Your kind notes, emails, and encouragement mean more to me than anything else. If you ever choose to send a small gift, please know it is never expected but always appreciated. My favorites include peanut butter & chocolate treats, coffee, and gift cards to easy shopping spots like Amazon, Target, or Walmart. Thank you for your kindness and support!
Any food items for Mr. Scott do have to be Gluten Free or we will be using a lot of air fresher in the classroom 😀.
