All Choice & Magnet Applications Close on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 12:00 PM (Noon)
Application window opens November 9 and closes January 23 at noon.
Students must complete an application during the designated time frame.
Acceptance to a magnet school or program allow the students to attend through the final grade level of school. No need to reapply each year.
All rising 9th and 10th grade students interesting in attending the Career Pathways Magnet at Spring Hill High School must complete an application during the designated time frame.
Students are selected through a lottery process. District Five uses a third party online platform (SmartChoice) to conduct a fair, equitable and efficient process.
Notifications are sent out via email.

Transportation is provided before and after school to SHHS students by way of the student's zoned high school since SHHS does not have an attendance zone.
Students who accept placement at Spring Hill High School Career Pathways Magnet (a non-zoned magnet), are eligible to participate in athletics at their zoned school.
Yes, an application must be completed for each student.
No, choice and magnet students may remain through the highest grade in the school in which they are currently enrolled, as long as they continue to live in the School District Five attendance zone. If the student wishes to return back to their choice or magnet option, they must wait until the next school year and reapply during the application window.
Students in District Five are eligible to apply and participate in the lottery selection for the district’s choice and magnet programs. Students with disabilities will be provided with equitable access to the schools and programs that are consistent with the child’s IEP.
