South Carolina students have been using SCOIS since 1977 to prepare for careers that will be in future demand. SCOIS is used in all grades K-12 as well as post secondary institutions and guides you all the way to state and national job openings. Students who use SCOIS can better prepare their Individualized Graduation Plans (IGPs.)
SCOIS is an on-line system and you need a password to enter. You will have access to several Career Assessments, College Information, Occupational Information, College Major Information, Career Clusters, School Subjects matched to careers, Financial Aid Information, Private Trade Schools, Career Videos, Building and Posting Resumes, Career Electronic Portfolios, Salary and Outlook information on Careers, Lesson Plans for Teachers, Career Guidance Tools for Parents.

The SC Department of Education (SDE) has created the profile of a student graduating from high school with a diploma to be career ready. In order to measure this data and show SC graduates are indeed ready to work the SDE pays for all graduates to complete the WIN Ready to Work. This aptitude test measure three areas; Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, Locating Information and awareness of Essential Soft Skills.
The goal for SC high school graduate is to achieve Silver level of achievement on the WIN. This means students will score a minimum score of 4 on all three aptitude areas.
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) is a comprehensive career planning tool that enables meaningful career exploration and post-secondary planning. ASVAB testing should take place at each High School each semester.
