FIVE for 6-8

  • South Carolina Standards-Based English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies

  • Gifted and Talented ELA and Math for state-identified students (6th-8th grade only)

  • Honors Classes for Middle Level ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies including English 1, Algebra 1, and Geometry (6-8 grade)

  • Related Arts will include Physical Education, Art, World Language and Music

  • Social/Emotional Learning will be embedded in content instruction

  • Special Education, Reading Intervention and ELL services for students that qualify

  • Opportunities to participate in community events in collaboration with your home school

  • Virtual Clubs where you are joined by other FIVE students to explore common interests

A Typical Day for an
Intermediate / Middle FIVE Student

Students in grades 6th through 8th will follow the schedule below.
The schedule aligns to the middle school bell schedule.

What can you expect to happen each period?

  • Attendance will be taken each period.

  • Each class will be a blend of lecture, group activities and opportunities for practice, both with peers and supervision of the teacher.

What are the requirements outside of class?

  • Students should expect to have homework and assignments outside of the live instruction with teachers.

  • Some state mandated assessments* will require students to report to their home school.
