Week 1 - Into to the Art Room
Welcome to the Art Room! This is your special space to explore, imagine, and create amazing works of art.
Together we will explore art in many ways:
Play with Colors: Mix and match to discover new shades and hues.
Experiment with Materials: Try out paints, markers, clay, and more.
Get Crafty: Make unique projects and decorations with a variety of craft supplies.
Express Yourself: Draw, paint, or sculpt whatever you’re feeling or dreaming about.
Remember, there’s no right or wrong way to be creative here. The only limit is your imagination! So grab your supplies, let your ideas flow, and let’s make some incredible art together. 🌟
Week 1 - Unicorn Scribble (Part 1)
In an effort to have my youngest students do their best work in art class, I always start with the book “Never let a Unicorn Scribble” . I let them know we will be getting all of our scribbles out so we are prepared to move forward and always try to color neatly and completely.
Week 2 - Unicorn Scribble (Part 2)
Scissor skills are something we work on early in the art room. I start by assessing students ability to hold scissors by giving them Play Doh to cut. Once we have insured a proper grip we test cut three different types of lines: straight, wavy, and zigzag. After gaining confidence cutting those lines, we put the skills together to cut out an unicorn to paste to our scribble background.
Week 3 - Straight Lines and Primary Colors: Broadway Boogie Woogie
Students will begin learning about the Elements of Art. Focus for this project is on straight lines: vertical and horizontal, and Primary Colors: Red, Yellow, and Blue.
*Due to changing school schedules and holidays all class may not have the opportunity to complete all projects.
