Hey everyone! My name is Eric Coleman, and I am so excited to be returning to the Yellow Jacket team for my 3rd year!
A little bit about me, I was born and raised right down the road in Lexington, SC. I graduated from White Knoll High School in 2018 and went about 2 hours Upstate to the best school in the country...Clemson University. As the energetic overachiever that I am, I made it my goal to get involved in almost everything. I had the pleasure of being an Orientation Ambassador, tutor for the Athletic department, and the Director of Outreach for the Student Alumni Council. All while doing that, I managed to maintain a serving job a taco joint, student teach under a great mentor, and travel to see the Tigers both in New Orleans and Dallas.
Becoming a teacher was one of my childhood dreams. I can remember always following my kindergarten teacher trying to help in anyway that I could. Throughout high school and the beginning of college, I changed my focus to a medical career. It only took the combination of biology, chemistry, AND calculus to make me reconsider. As an Orientation Ambassador for Clemson, I worked with recent high school graduates to familiarize them with Clemson before they arrived on campus. It was that experience that made me realize that there are students out there who need a teacher who looks like them, has experienced similar struggles as them, and wants nothing more for them than success. So, I walked into my advisor's office and said, how do I become a teacher? The rest...is history..
