Be Pro Be Proud
Are you still exploring your career path and considering a trade? Curious about careers in Welding, Electricity, Lineman work, Plumbing, or Truck Driving?
The Be Pro, Be Proud truck is coming to Chapin High School on November 6th, offering hands-on experiences in each of these fields. This is a unique opportunity for an in-house field trip, but space is limited. The session lasts 45 minutes.
Sign up using this Google Form (Also posted in your grade-level Google Classroom). Once registered, you’ll receive your assigned time to visit the truck.

The ASVAB is a great career exploration tool. The ASVAB evaluates academic ability and predicts success in a variety of careers. (not all about the Military)

ACCUPLACER
November 18th
By evaluating students' skills in reading, writing, and math, ACCUPLACER helps Technical Colleges determine students' readiness for college-level work and place them in appropriate courses for English and Math.
If you are uncertain of your plans after high school or interested in starting your studies at Midlands Technical College, you should take the FREE MTC Placement Test!
NCDA Poetry & Art Contest
CHS students must submit their entries by Friday, December 20th.
Michelin Field Study for Students
February 13th
Students selected to visit the Michelin plant should have an interest in STEM, manufacturing and potentially working in the industry.
Priority given to seniors. Limited to 10 students.

On Monday August 19th we will have a Coast Guard representative on site during Powerhour in the cafeteria. Please stop and learn more about careers in the Coast Guard

Ed Op/College Fair
Hosted in partnership with SCCANGO this Ed Op event is open to Juniors and Seniors. Students will have an opportunity to speak with admissions counselors and military branch representatives from across the country.

The Army National Guard will be here today during Power Hour! Stop by their table to learn about serving part-time while pursuing your education or career goals. They’ll be available to answer any questions you may have.
October 10th Financial Aid Night
Join us to learn How to Pay for College! Jonathan Rhodes from SC Student loan will be here to discuss the importance of: Completing the FAFSA, Federal and State Aid, Scholarships, understanding Federal and Private Loans.
This event will be held in the CHS PD Room (across from the cafeteria) from 5:30 - 6:30 pm

The SC Governor's School
for Arts will be on campus
from 11:30-12:30pm during Powerhour in the Career Center.
A public, residential high school serving SC's emerging young artists. They also have summer programs.

The South Carolina Governor's School for Agriculture at John de la Howe (JDLH) is a state-funded, public, residential high school focused on providing a unique and challenging agricultural education program. Our school, the first statewide program of its kind in the nation, will allow students to receive hands-on training in the fields of agriculture, agribusiness, forestry, land management, food science, and more - all aimed at assessing the needs of modern farms.
