Ninth Grade Orchestra is for students in the ninth grade who play violin, viola, cello or bass.
Advanced Orchestra is for students in grades 10, 11 and 12 who play violin, viola, cello or bass.
Masterclass Orchestra participation is offered by audition, to students in grades 10, 11 and 12 . The Masterclass Orchestra performs standard string orchestra and chamber music repertoire. For masterclass students participation in performances is required, at all our school concerts in addition to other community and school events, along with scheduled after-school rehearsals.
Orchestra is a performance-based class in which each student participates daily. It is the goal of the director to produce superior performing ensembles and to showcase these ensembles at home at C.H.S. and throughout the school district and in the community.
Our Guitar Class is a beginners' course designed for every student, regardless of musical experience in the 9th through 12th grades. This musical performance based class, is an introduction to the many styles of guitar playing. Students will be exposed to the playing techniques and thought processes required to make them a versatile guitarist and musician.
The overall objective of the CHS Guitar Program is to introduce guitar playing and music theory to students and to continually improve the student’s musical abilities. In addition, the guitar program hopes to improve students' self-discipline, and their abilities to work within a musical ensemble.
