  About the EXCEL Program

Instruction & Staffing
EXCEL is taught by a certified teacher, with a full-time classroom assistant to provide additional support.

Class Size
Class size is a minimum and maximum of 20 students per classroom.

Rest/Nap Time
There is a scheduled student rest or nap time. Especially at the beginning of the year, some students may become tired or fall asleep as they adjust to the full-day schedule.

How is this different from other programs?
Many of our students have previously attended full-time programs, resulting in a mix of academic abilities and maturity levels. Our program follows a typical kindergarten school day, but with more age-appropriate timing and structure for activities.

Is there play time during the day?
Yes. We incorporate play into learning throughout the day. Often, students feel like they are engaging in free play when, in fact, the activity is intentionally designed to support learning goals.

How do we handle different student levels?
We meet children where they are. Our program emphasizes differentiated instruction through small-group learning. Children also learn from one another, as peer interaction is a valuable part of the learning process.
