FAQ

• You must be in grades 6–12 at a Massachusetts school.

• Film crews can be any size, but every crew member must meet the above criteria.

• Everyone on the crew must be listed in the “Group Members and their Roles” section of the submission form.

• Collaborators who are not eligible (e.g., adults or people outside MA schools) may not be part of the official crew. They can be listed under “Other Collaborators” instead.

• We want to hear student voices first, so keep adult help to a minimum.

A: Mature topics are allowed, and we want a safe and welcoming space for all audiences. If in doubt, a rating of PG-13 is advisable. 

If your film includes any of the following, you must:

• Include a content warning in your submission form

• Add the warning before your title card in the film

• Content warnings are required for:

  • Violence/gore

  • Death

  • Sexual or suggestive content

  • Child abuse

  • Animal cruelty

  • Self-harm or suicide

  • Depictions of discrimination

  • Substance abuse

  • Flashing lights/epilepsy triggers
