8th Grade Orchestra

Welcome to the Diamond Orchestra!

This year, we'll have the opportunity to improve our skills on our instruments and work together in a larger group. My goal is to help you make connections between what you can do with your instrument and how you can impact other people - from those in your immediate environment to people across the globe. The more skills and techniques you have in your tool box, the greater your impact can be!

Please note that ALL assignments will be posted in Google Classroom.

About me

I started my teaching career in 1995, giving private violin lessons to younger students in Maine, where I grew up. I completed my Bachelor of Music in Music Education at Boston University, graduating summa cum laude, in 2001. In 2005, I finished a Master's degree at the University of Connecticut. This is my 11th year teaching in Lexington, and I absolutely love what I do - teaching students through the art of music played on stringed instruments.

I have played both violin and viola in orchestras across Massachusetts, from the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra to the Brockton Symphony. I regularly perform with the Reagle Theater in Waltham in their "Christmastime!" production, and have played in approximately 1.5 kajillion musical theater productions: Annie, Oliver, Legally Blonde, Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Sweeney Todd, Anne of Green Gables, West Side Story, Into the Woods, Les Misérables, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Seussical the Musical...and many, many more! AND...I like to play chamber music, for weddings and other occasions, and sometimes, I get together with my friends and just play FOR FUN!

In addition to teaching and performing, I like hiking, backpacking, cycling, mountain biking, whitewater kayaking, gardening, yoga, and hanging out with my potcake dog, Bella.
