BIO:
Mr. Stoby is a proud graduate of Belton High School and holds a degree in Trombone Performance from Stephen F. Austin State University. Over the past 16 years, he has built a distinguished career as a professional musician and music educator while serving in U.S. Army Bands. His assignments took him all over the world. They included Kentucky, Texas, Korea, Kansas, and Oklahoma, as well as deployments to Iraq and Syria, where he used music to boost morale and represent the United States through cultural diplomacy. Throughout his military service, Mr. Stoby developed a strong passion for music education. He has spent more than a decade teaching musical masterclasses to students of all levels, from middle school ensembles to university music majors. Now entering a new chapter in his career, Mr. Stoby is honored to bring his experience, leadership, and enthusiasm to the students of Lexington. He believes in the power of music to build community, inspire creativity, and shape young lives. Mr. Stoby and his wife, April, are very excited to be back home in Texas with their five daughters. Mr. Stoby is looking forward to getting to know all of the Lexington Band students and help the band program continue to grow and thrive.
