PBS Kids for Parents - resources, activities, and tips 🥳
weekend snack packs
Our department has partnered with Lexington United Methodist Church to offer a confidential program, which provides snacks for students to take home at the end of each week. This program is intended to provide families who may be going through some financial hardship with healthy snacks for their children.
👝 Snack Packs typically include items such as instant oatmeal and grits, granola bars, apple sauce, ramen noodles, mac and cheese, fruit snacks, etc. Contents may vary based on item availability.
🔗 To sign up, you can complete this digital form or reach out to your child's school counselor for a paper copy.
School-Based therapist
Mrs. Casey Williams serves SGE students as our School-Based Mental Health Therapist through Lexington County Community Mental Health. This service provides long-term therapy to our students, year-round.
If you would like to set up services with LCCMH, please contact your child's school counselor for a referral.
☞ Lexington One also partners with LifeChanges, Dickerson Children's Advocacy Center, and CareSolace to meet the mental health needs of our students. Please reach out to your child's school counselor to learn more about these services.
Family liaison
As our Family Liaison, Mrs. Amy Shearer helps parents and families in all aspects of their child's education. Mrs. Shearer has many academic resources that can be checked out to families. She also leads Little Stars, a program for 3 and 4 year olds.

school social worker
Mr. Deron Chisolm is our district-level Social Worker who serves the SGE attendance area. He is a great help to our team as he's able to provide additional resources to the families of our school. Mrs. Alma Puente Ruiz is another district Social Worker who assists our Spanish-speaking families.
