Interested in exploring your future career options? Lexington One allows all high school students to participate in one excused job shadow day per semester. Job shadowing is one of the best ways to gain real-world experience, build network connections, and potentially unlock future internship or job opportunities.
Students may job shadow once per semester
Fall 9/8/26 - 12/11/26
Spring 1/11/27 - 4/16/27
How to Get Started:
Find a Host: Connect with family, friends, or community members working in a field you would like to explore to see if they can host you.
Submit Documentation: Coordinate a date with your host and complete the registration process, including the required parent permission form. Three (3) business days are required to approve and prepare your information.
Collect Your Packet: Once approved, Mrs. Bennett or Mrs. Farrar will email you to pick up your job shadowing packet.
All steps must be completed to excuse your absence.
Steps to job shadow approval/excusal:
1. Complete this Google form.
2. Upload the completed/signed Parent Permission Form.
3. Once you receive an approval email, pick up your job shadow folder in the Counseling and Advisement Office.
5. After you complete your job shadow experience, return the paperwork, including your thank you note to Counseling and Advisement within 5 days.
6. When all paperwork is completed and submitted, your absence will be excused. If you do not complete all these steps, your absences will not be excused.
Your career specialist cannot approve an absence if the process is not followed.
