What We Do
Professional school counselors are licensed/certified educators with a minimum of a master’s degree in school counseling, making them uniquely qualified to address all students’ academic, social/emotional and career developmental needs by designing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive school counseling program that promotes and enhances student success.
Services we provide to students include:
Classroom Lessons: We see ALL students in lesson at least once/month to teach academic, social/emotional skills and career awareness.
Small Group Counseling: Students who have parent permission participate in small group counseling on specific needs (i.e. healthy friendship skills, new PHES families, how to handle worry, grief/loss, family changes, etc). Small groups include 4-6 students and meet for 6-8 sessions during school.
Brief, Individual Counseling: Students, teachers and parents can request that students meet individually with the school counselor for short-term counseling to work on specific problems and skills.
