Merri Anna Allred
School Librarian
Hello New Providence Lionsl! I love being a part of the NPE family! Here is a little bit of information to help you get to know me. I grew up in Gaffney, South Carolina. After graduation from Gaffney High School I attended and graduated from Clemson University with a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. GO TIGERS!!!! After graduation, I married my husband, Ryan, and we moved to Dallas, Texas so Ryan could attend Dallas Theological Seminary. We spent almost 10 years in the Dallas area. While in Dallas I taught 3rd grade at Skyview Elementary in the Richardson Independent School District and I was a school librarian at Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary in the Rockwall Independent School District. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science and a certificate in School Librarianship. In 2003 our son, Alex, was born and then in 2006 we welcomed our daughter Emily. Our family made a move back to the Palmetto State in January 2007. In 2007 I had the privilege to open a brand new school library at India Hook Elementary in Rock Hill School District 3. I served 7 years at India Hook until we made the move to Lexington in January 2014, when I once again had the privilege to help open another brand new school at Deerfield Elementary, here in Lexington County School District One. In 2017 I made the move to NPE. When I am not at school, you will find me cheering on my kids at their sports events, reading a good book, shopping, spending time on the lake, staying involved with church activities and cheering on our Clemson Tigers! I look forward to seeing all of you in our school library very soon!
