Steps for Registering for a District Graduate Course


District Graduate Course Withdrawal Procedures

Participants who withdraw from a Lexington One graduate course within five days prior to the first class or withdraw after the course begins will forfeit tuition.  The participant will also have to officially withdraw from the college or university. Contact Shannon Williamson at 821-1056 or at sawilliamson@lexington1.net for withdrawal procedures.

American College of Education

American College of Education offers educators a variety of programs and courses at a reduced cost to Lexington County School District One Teachers. Click on the document to the left to see more about the cost, term dates, and program information.  

 

Arkansas State university

Arkansas State University and Lexington County School District One are partnering to provide educators with access to a variety of fully online Masters, Educational Specialist, and Doctoral programs at a reduced rate.  Content foci for the programs include literacy, special education, counseling, and educational leadership among others.  Click on the flyer to the right for more information about the programs and registration process.  Cost per program is included.

In lieu of in-person meetings, ASU will be hosting online information webinars for educators wanting to learn more about the graduate programs available to help further their education and career. For more information, be sure to review the flyer to the right.

Capella University

Clemson University Opportunities

Are you interested in becoming certified in teaching ESOL? Starting this spring, Clemson University College of Education will be offering the ESOL add on certification courses online. The five required courses will be offered fully online from Spring 2018 through Fall 2018. The first attached flyer contains more information about the certification.

If teachers are interested in attaining their full Masters of Education in Literacy, Clemson University offers the program with two possible endorsements: Literacy Coaching and ESOL. Additionally, all Read to Succeed coursework is completed through the M.Ed. The second attached flyer contains more information about the degree.

USC Aiken

June sessions will include a Geometry Institute as well as a Probability and Statistics Institute for middle and high school mathematics teachers.  The July sessions will include an Algebraic Thinking and Proportional Relationships Institute for 3rd – 8th grade mathematics teachers, and a STEM Institute for 3rd – 8th grade mathematics and science teachers.

Discounts for early registration are available prior to Thursday, June 1, 2017.  

There are several local hotels, and lodging can also be provided using USC Aiken’s Campus Housing at the following rates: 

·         $25 plus 12% tax = $28 per night/Double with linen

·         $30 plus 12% tax = $33.60 per night/Single with linen
