In grades 3-5, students begin learning what AI is and how it can support learning in age-appropriate ways. We help students see AI as a helpful assistant, not a replacement for their own thinking, creativity, or choices. Students may explore how AI appears in everyday tools and practice writing clear prompts using approved, image-based tools such as Adobe Express. Lessons focus on creativity, critical thinking, and responsible use. Text-based AI tools, such as Gemini, are introduced beginning in middle school. AI at this level is teacher-directed and assigned. 

In Grades 6-8, we focus on responsibility and ethics. Using our classroom guidance scales, students learn exactly when AI is allowed, when it is restricted, and when it is completely off-limits. They practice using AI to get feedback and organize their thoughts, while learning to always cite their tools and keep their original voice at the center of their work.

In grades 9-12, we prepare students to use AI critically and ethically in academic and real-world settings. Our goal is to move students toward independence, teaching them to lead with human intelligence while using technology as a strategic partner.
