The purpose of the annual Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) is to review a student's current and past academic progress, career interests, educational goals, and post-secondary plans and discuss course selections for the next school year. This is first done during a students 8th grade year and will continue yearly throughout their high school career.
8th Grade students will meet with BMS School Counselors to begin working on their Student Led IGP presentation that they will share with their parents during the second semester. This will be working on the presentation only.
Starting late January Student led IGP meetings with parents and counselors will begin. These will continue through March. During this meeting the student will present their slides to a counselor and parent(s). Course selection for their 9th grade may be adjusted during this time.
SCOIS is a great website to help students explore future career options. Students will use SCOIS throughout their school career especially when they are preparing for their student led IGP.
