Beliefs

The Beechwood Middle School Counselors believe:

  • Every student will be treated with respect and provided with adults who will be equipped with the skills and resources necessary to advocate for and ensure their success.

  • Every student will interact with adults in the school setting who value relationships.

  • Every student has the right to a school that is safe and inclusive.

  • Every student has the right to an education experience that allows them to grow as a student and requires active participation, mutual respect and individual accountability of students, parents, school staff and community.

  • Every student will be prepared for college, school to work and career opportunities in our global society.

  • Every student will be supported by a comprehensive school counseling program that will help them with their academic, social/emotional and career needs that is led by a certified professional school counselor who will abide by the American School Counselor Association ethical standards and guidelines.


Vision

Our vision is that the students at Beechwood Middle School are driven, innovative and collaborative learners who are prepared to meet the challenges and high expectations of today's global community. Every student participates in an environment that will maximize their highest academic achievement, support their social and emotional needs and their career development potential in a collaborative partnership with school staff, parents and families, and community members to ensure long-term success for ALL students.


Mission

The mission of Beechwood Middle School Comprehensive Counseling Program is to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to maximize the full potential of every student by providing a comprehensive school counseling program that focuses on academic, social/emotional, and career domains. Our mission supports the core standards of the American School Counselor Association national model, Lexington School District One and its strategic plan, and Beechwood Middle School.
