Let’s meet, interact and challenge this summer！
Hippo Family Club values multilingualism, multi-generational interaction, and diversity. Every year, we organize camps in Japan and abroad, where people of all ages gather and play in nature, regardless of age, gender, or nationality.
While the connection among people is weakened and people tend to stay at home by themselves these days, Hippo Family Club has been organizing camps in Japan with adequate measures against infectious diseases. We have successfully realized communication and exchanges among people from different backgrounds. (Please see "Past Camps.")
The best part of Hippo Camps is that participants are getting along just like a big family through living together with group members at the Minshuku guest house or sharing a camping life on a deserted island.
Based on Hippo Family Club's multilingual activities, we always welcome everyone and enjoy every language. So, you don’t need to worry about the language barrier. You will meet new friends and family while enjoying nature and having fun communicating in any language!
This summer, let's meet and interact with people in nature and challenge yourself to find a new self and new friends.
Furusato (Hometown) Camp at Iiyama, Nagano
■Location: Togari, Iiyama, Nagano, Japan
■Camp Dates:
August 2 (Fri.) - August 5 (Mon.), 2024
■Capacity: 400
■Registration Period: May 20 (Mon.) 20:00-21:00 (JST)
(Once capacity is reached, registrations will be placed on a waiting list.)
Okinawa Camp
■Location: Kunigami-son (Yambaru Discovery Forest) and Ie-son, Okinawa, Japan
■Camp Dates:
August 17 (Sat.) - August 23 (Fri.), 2024
■Capacity: 130
■Registration Period: May 20 (Mon.) 20:00-21:00 (JST)
(Once capacity is reached, registrations will be placed on a waiting list.)
Mujinto (Deserted Island) Camp at Kamashima, Okayama
■Location: Kamashima, Kurashiki, Okayama, Japan
■Camp Dates:
Group 1: July 26 (Fri.) - July 30 (Tue.), 2024
Group 2: August 18 (Sun.) - August 22 (Thu.), 2024
■Capacity: 70 for each Group
■Registration Period: May 20 (Mon.) 20:00-21:00 (JST)
(Once capacity is reached, registrations will be placed on a waiting list.)
In Summersion Camp 2024, we will work with outdoor activist Futana Yoshihi (The former king of TV Champion - deserted island) and his team♪

★For All Ages (Furusato (Hometown) Camp at Iiyama, Nagano, and Okinawa)★
Please be noted that a third-grade elementary student or older is required to register individually and separately from his/her parent(s) as he/she is supposed to stay at a different lodge from his/her parent(s).
A 2nd-grade elementary student and younger must be accompanied by an adult older than a college student.
★4 years old and older (Mujinto (Deserted Island) Camp at Kamashima, Okayama)★
・Individual participation: A 4th-grade elementary student and older (Please make sure that you can take care of your personal matters by yourself.)
・Family participation: 4 years old and older (A 3rd-grade elementary student and younger must be accompanied by an adult older than a college student.)
★International Students / People and Non-Hippo Family Club Members are all welcome!★

LEX is a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting multilingualism and intercultural understanding. There are three integrated components to LEX – language clubs, international exchange programs, and educational materials. The heart of our programs is an openness to all languages and all people.
